Networker® OpenVMS Client
The current version of the Networker OpenVMS Client (NOC) software is V1.0-BL20. It works on both OpenVMS VAX and OpenVMS Alpha systems. NOC allows customers to back up and restore data that resides on their OpenVMS systems to a centrally located NetWorker server. The NetWorker server may reside on any supported platform and must be at version V4.2 or newer. The NetWorker server manages the backup media and provides for policy administration.

Description
The Networker OpenVMS Client V1.0 is fully interoperable with any NetWorker Server V4.2 and higher. The NetWorker familty of high-performance storage management software provides comprehensive protection for client data, now including OpenVMS clients. It performs automatic backup operations based on schedules set at the server. In addition, the client software allows client-initiated backup, which can be performed by users or system administrators. NetWorker file recovery is fast and convenient.
NetWorker OpenVMS Client provides file system backup for OpenVMS systems. It supports all the important data access options as the OpenVMS Backup Utility, including handling of open files, of HSM files, of swap files and of files marked for no-backup.
This release of the NetWorker OpenVMS Client does not support:
- The NetWorker Archive function
- On-line database backup
- System disk recovery; although possible, this requires some system manager intervention
